Most nationalities receive a 30-day visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport. There is no need to apply in advance, though the online Irembo portal is available if you prefer.
If your trip covers Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya, the East Africa Tourist Visa is better value and allows multiple entries across all three countries for 90 days.
A yellow fever certificate is required only if you are arriving from a country where the disease is endemic. Carry a printed copy.
Bring your passport with at least six months validity, printed permits, and a card that works internationally — Rwanda is largely cashless in cities.
